Format sheet / Paper tubes / Rev. 2026.10

A cylinder with the tolerances of a technical component.

Paper tubes behave differently from folded boxes. Diameter, wall thickness, liner, and cap fit determine whether the pack feels precise or loose in the hand.

Structure

How the format is built.

We wind to your product envelope, print on the wrap before winding, and inspect diameter at the seam as well as 90 degrees from it.

Spiral-wound body

FSC paperboard is wound around a precision mandrel and wrapped with your printed sheet. Wall thickness is selected for the pack weight and barrier requirement.

Cap fit

Telescoping paper cap, friction-fit cap, or a windowed construction. We sample the fit at both ends of the diameter tolerance before approving production.

Product contact liner

Food-grade PE or PLA liner on the inner ply. For supplements, we confirm liner and adhesive compatibility against your fill material.

Seam control

The spiral seam is part of the visual system. Print registration is checked across the seam, not hidden behind a label.

Best for supplements, tea, coffee, wellness, candles. Send the product envelope and pack weight; we will confirm the board call before quoting.

Surface finishes

Finishing is quoted after the artwork and dieline are fixed. Foil, emboss, and spot UV each require their own tooling and registration check.

Hot foil stamping

Cap or body foil in tight radial register; fine text is possible on flat wraps before winding.

Spot UV

Selective gloss over matte wrap. Registration is checked against the seam position.

Emboss / deboss

Subtle relief on the wrap before winding; depth is limited by the paper and mandrel.

Matte / soft-touch lamination

Matte film for scuff protection; food-contact surfaces remain uncoated and specified separately.
